Describe the work that you do.
I am a Business Coach. I meet clients one on one both virtually and in person. I also do group coaching in a program called, "Mastermind on the Mountain." I take small groups of people (6-8) people on a trail and we discuss a topic that is meaningful in their business or personal life. I have conducted Masterclasses on my books as well.
Who do you serve/who is your preferred audience?
My preferred audience includes people who are eager to learn, grow, be challenged by a new way of thinking or knowing. That can include the following audiences: Education and Higher Education institutions, outdoor adventure and wilderness organizations, Leaders and entrepreneurs, and women's groups.
How do you transform your audience?
I make a concerted effort to engage with and connect to the audience. I do that through stories I share where they can apply concepts shared or tips to encourage them to make necessary changes.

The Art of Being Well: Purposeful Steps to Living an Intentional Life

Most of us know about what well-being includes…physical (diet and exercise), financial well-being, community, career and social well-being. We often nod our heads and say, I know I need to save, I know I need to exercise, I know I need to eat better, etc. But, often times we fall short. Being well is beyond exercise and healthy eating. Building daily and consistent non-negotiable behaviors sets the foundation for living an intentional life and being well.

In this session you will:

• Re-examine what well-being is.
• Discover the #1 step to Being Well
• Design and activate the lifestyle secrets that lead to living with intention and being well

The UNFLAPPABLE Leader: The Power of Your Voice to Influence

The word UNFLAPPABLE was introduced to me at the age of 24. I had no idea what the word meant until someone pointed it out to me, about me! For over 40 years, I’ve observed leaders in their unflappable demeanor, much of the time in the outdoors or on a mountain. I had plenty of circumstances that allowed me to model being unflappable. In times of uncertainty and stepping into the unknown, being unflappable can create calm for yourself and for those around you, particularly as you lead.

In this session you will:

• Understand the connection between influence, leadership and one’s voice.
• Learn the value of being unflappable in the decision-making process and in modeling leadership for others.
• Utilize key components that create the foundation of being unflappable.

Share any books you've written, films you've produced, etc.

Why would a booker choose you (sell yourself a bit)?
I'm the real deal. My climbing stories and experiences are authentic. I create the metaphors and make application to the audience I am speaking to so that it brings the greatest value to the people who have invested time to listen to me.

Thank you for presenting your talk titled "Pursue your summits: Living a meaningful life" and for hosting a book signing of your book, UNFLAPPABLE. It was a pleasure having youi back on Longwood's campus after your tenure of teaching here. It was your campus celebrity and connection to the Prince Edward Community that bolstered event attendance. Your program fostered the idea of being well by inspiring participants, a mix of students, faculty, staff and community members to pursue not only their metaphorical summits but some likely literal summits too.
